Project Spotlight - Paper Roller Coaster Marble Madness!
After Middle Schools students spent several weeks designing and building (and redesigning, and rebuilding) their own paper roller coasters, they finally got the chance to "drop their marbles" for an exciting competition that took place on September 15th. Their 6-9 year-old schoolmates in the E1 Main class sat in on the competition as the official judges, carefully evaluating each group for Most Beautifully Made, Most Fun for the Marble, and Most Creative. There was also a competition for Longest Marble Roll.
In this project, Middle School students learned about physics and the properties of speed, distance, and acceleration. We're pretty sure they learned a thing or two about teamwork and trial and error too!
